The content of JargonDB is based on version 4.4.7 of The Jargon File, which has been put together into a database. The idea is to get from here handy statistics from the use of its content (ie. most or less popular terms) as well as to provide an easier navigation to all jargon lexicon. It is all about the magic of the jargon!

Web services

Check out our tools section for goodies that are aimed to help you learn, enjoy and spread the jargon. Here you can find a Google Toolbar button, an extension for your or simple Bookmarklets (support for all major browsers).

Syndicate

Now, you can use this URL to retrieve an RSS feed of random terms similar to this page. By default, it gives you 5 terms, but you can specify any number (up to 20) by appending ?n=# to the URL. Examples:

Rate

Each page displays a little box, similar to the one you can see here, on the right. On normal jargon pages you can fly the mouse over the stars and cast your votes. Play as much as you wish. ;-) The most popular terms are displayed on the stats page!
